When you open a dyz file, by double clicking on it, you get the message "There was an invalid
command line argument. File not found, or invalid path."
This happens when a user has created file associations for the dyz file manually trying to use the open with this file and pointing it to dyknow.exe or some other application. When Windows does this, it creates some incorrect file assocations that future installs will not correct.
Currently, this requires updating the registry settings to resolve. Please ask your help desk to perform the following steps:
- Clean up: delete HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\dyknow.exe as that is not relevant to our application.
- Restore correct associations to .dyz files: go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dyz and change "Default" from "dyz_auto_type" to "DyKnow.Document"
You may need to restart your machine after updating the registry to see the changes.
