Installing DyKnow (prior to version 5.7) on Computers Running Eset (NOD32) Antivirus

Summary

Installing DyKnow on computers running Eset (NOD32) antivirus can cause svchost errors and prevent the computer from running properly or booting into windows.

Solution

Installing DyKnow on a computer with Eset (NOD32) antivirus:

  1. Quit (not just disable) the IMON internet monitor with in Eset (NOD32) antivirus and reboot.
  2. 1.jpg
  3. Install DyKnow
  4. Re-enable the IMON internet monitor and reboot
  5. 2.jpg.

If DyKnow is installed on a computer with Eset (NOD32) antivirus and is receiving errors:

  1. Reboot using the last known good configuration.
  2. Uninstall DyKnow.
  3. Quit (not just disable) the IMON internet monitor with in Eset (NOD32) antivirus and reboot.
  4. Install DyKnow
  5. Re-enable the IMON internet monitor and reboot.
Note: If the IMON internet monitor is re-enabled, the above steps 2-4 will have to be followed when DyKnow is upgraded
