Request and Review Student Understanding Status

INTRODUCTION

Dyknow's Student Understanding feature enables Teachers to ask students how well they're understanding your material. Students can also voluntarily report their understanding from their devices, regardless of Teacher requests.

This document is a resource for Dyknow Teachers to understand how to:

 

REQUEST STUDENT UNDERSTANDING

Follow the steps below to request Student Understanding statuses from students during an active monitoring session.

1. Click the check box icon to access the Student Understanding feature.

2. Click the Request button to prompt students to submit their understanding.

Note: Student Understanding responses appear as a pie chart under the Requested Submissions heading.

 

REVIEW STUDENT UNDERSTANDING SUBMISSIONS

Follow the steps below to review Student Understanding statuses from students during an active monitoring session.

1. Click the check box icon to access the Student Understanding feature.

2. Review the Requested Submissions and/or Voluntary Submissions.

Note: The default view keeps student names anonymous.

3. Click each response to view student names.

 

 

STUDENTS CAN SUBMIT THEIR UNDERSTANDING STATUS

  1. Find the notification area (usually in the bottom-left corner)
  2. A Dyknow icon will appear in the list
  3. If the DyKnow icon is not there, click on the carrot to see more notification symbols. These can be dragged and dropped into the tray for easy access.
  4. Clicking the icon will display the three Understanding options.
  5. If the icon does not appear, Dyknow is either not installed or has encountered a problem. Contact support@dyknow.com

  1. In Chrome, look in the top right corner
  2. The Dyknow icon will appear at the end of the URL bar
  3. Clicking the icon will display the three Understanding options
  4. If the icon does not appear, Dyknow is either not installed or has encountered a problem. Contact support@dyknow.com

  1. On a Mac, look at the Menu bar (usually at the top of the page)
  2. The Dyknow icon will appear in the Menu bar
  3. Clicking the icon will display the three Understanding options
  4. If the icon does not appear, Dyknow is either not installed or has encountered a problem. Contact support@dyknow.com
  1. On an iPad, open the Dyknow app
  2. The Dyknow icon will appear in the top right corner, next to the URL bar
  3. Clicking this icon will display the three Understanding options
